A Rainy, Golden Fall Elopement in Breckenridge | Colorado Elopement Photography

When Lisa and Clayton reached out about eloping in Breckenridge during peak fall, they knew they wanted stunning mountain views and golden aspens — but weren’t exactly sure where to start. That’s where I came in. Helping couples dream up location plans that match their vision is one of my favorite parts of this job. I scouted and recommended a variety of spots to give them a mix of alpine scenery and forested trails, creating a route that felt intentional, adventurous, and true to them. And of course, they brought their sweet pup along for the ride — the ultimate adventure buddy.

.

As Colorado tends to do, the weather surprised us with a full dose of rain. But Lisa and Clayton were all in — no hesitation, no second thoughts. They embraced the moody vibes, and still tied the knot exactly as planned. For the first part of the session, Lisa wore a beautiful dress passed down from her mom, adding an extra layer of meaning to an already heartfelt day.

And honestly? The coolest moody skies and rolling clouds that gave everything this dreamy, cinematic feel. It was a perfect reminder that even the unexpected can make a day unforgettable — especially when you lean in, trust the adventure, and let love lead the way. This day was everything I love about being a Colorado elopement photographer: real, heartfelt, a little wild, and full of love.
