Kanab, Utah Slot Canyon Elopement with Dogs | Faith + Zack

Updated: May 9

Faith and Zack knew one thing for sure — they wanted to have their adventure elopement in the place where their souls felt most alive: the desert. The warm sun, red rock, and stillness of the canyons have always held a special place in their hearts. But with so many incredible options in Southern Utah, they weren’t sure whether a slot canyon or a wide-open desert vista was the right call.

That’s where I came in. Helping couples navigate location options and weigh the pros and cons is a huge part of what I do — from lighting to logistics to the overall vibe, I’m here to make sure the place matches the story. Together, we chose a spot that gave them stunning light, privacy, and that otherworldly desert feel.

They brought along their two pups, Doug and Bernie, because of course, their day wouldn’t have been complete without them. Each dog rocked a custom collar for the occasion, and honestly, they stole the show more than once. Faith and Zack chose to keep their ceremony completely private, just the two of them (and their dogs), with sunlight filtering through the canyon walls as they exchanged vows.

After soaking in the stillness and beauty of the canyon, we packed up and made the short drive across the border into Arizona, where they met up with a few close friends at a tiny desert saloon to toast the day. It was the perfect mix of adventure and celebration — quiet, meaningful moments followed by a laid-back night surrounded by the people (and pups) they love most.
