There’s something undeniably magical about winter in Colorado. While Colorado offers countless beautiful locations, these are my three favorite spots for winter photo sessions.

Sapphire Point Overlook

If you're willing to venture a little farther into the mountains, Sapphire Point rewards you with some of the most stunning winter views in Colorado.

Located near Dillon Reservoir, this overlook offers panoramic views of snow-capped mountain ranges, frozen water, and evergreen forests. The best part? You get all of this beauty with a very short and accessible walk from the parking lot.

For those looking to stay closer to Denver, Mount Falcon Park is one of my favorite hidden gems for winter photography. The combination of open foothills views, evergreen forests, and winding trails gives us a variety of backdrops throughout the session. What makes this location especially magical is when we get a fresh dusting of snow on the trees. The snow-covered pines create a winter wonderland feel that looks straight out of a storybook.

Even on days without fresh snowfall, Mount Falcon offers beautiful golden grasses, dramatic foothill views, and plenty of opportunities to capture Colorado's winter beauty.

One of my favorite things about Echo Lake is the variety it offers within a short distance. We can photograph along the shoreline, among the trees, or with mountain views stretching across the background - all without requiring extensive hiking.
