Sunrise Elopement in Rocky Mountain National Park

There's something undeniably magical about a sunrise elopement, especially when it takes place in one of Colorado's most iconic locations, Rocky Mountain National Park. It’s a place that means a lot to them, and they wanted their day to feel real, quiet, and full of meaning.

We started hiking out around 4:45 AM, headlamps on and layers zipped up, so we could make it to the lake before sunrise. They changed into their formal clothes once we got there, and we had the whole place to ourselves. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect — just as they started reading their vows, that bright pink light hit the mountains.  The moment was quiet, intentional, and full of love. It was the kind of moment you don’t forget. And yes, I definitely teared up behind the camera. I’m not crying, you’re crying.

To wrap up their session, Andrew and Aidan threw on their matching Melanzana hoodies — a true Colorado staple — and soaked in the moment for a while longer. It was the perfect blend of mountain magic, adventure, and authenticity. Mornings like these make me so grateful to be a Colorado elopement photographer.

I loved how true-to-them this whole experience was. If you’re thinking about planning your own sunrise elopement or want to say your vows somewhere meaningful, I’d love to be part of capturing your story. I’m here for early mornings, quiet trails, and all the real moments in between.
